It’s a stratovolcano mountain and its last eruption happened between 150,000 and 200,000 years ago. Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro has got three volcanic cones including; Mawenzi, Shira and Kibo and it’s a dominant Volcano in Tanzania.
The mountain has got over seven known trekking routes which include- Machame, Mweka, Lemosho, Marangu, Shira, Rongai and Umbwe. And of all these routes, Machame is the most scenic and steeper route, this is because it can be completed in 6-7 days. Located 70km west side of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania is Mount Meru which is a dormant stratovolcano. The peak of the mountain is at a height of 4,562.13m.
