PERFECT FOR FAMILIES, GROUPS & OFF-GRID ADVENTURES

ABOUT KILIMANJARO NATIONAL PARK

If it is your dream to summit Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain, you have come to the right place. Gecko Adventures is a Tanzanian-registered and fully licensed company, based in Dar Es Salaam, and has been conducting unforgettable Kilimanjaro treks, climbs and safaris since 2010. Let us take you to the Roof of Africa!

Why summit Kilimanjaro?

At 5895m high, the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro is not only the highest mountain in Africa and one of the world’s “Great 7” summits, it is also the highest free-standing mountain in the world. This dormant volcano has drawn climbers from all over the world for more than 120 years.

Aside from the striking natural beauty, the breathtaking vistas and sunsets and the distinct and often other-worldly ecological systems that are boasted by this snow-capped giant, Kilimanjaro’s popularity also stems from the fact that it can be submitted without technical gear or extreme fitness, and fairly cheaply. You will need willpower, a sense of humour, a healthy body and a little bit of luck. Aside from that, with Gecko Adventures at your side there is nothing to stop you from standing on the roof of Africa, a moment that you will never forget.

The six Kilimanjaro Climbing Routes vary not only in length, cost and scenery. They also have different difficulty levels and different success rates. Selecting a Kilimanjaro Routes is one of the most important decisions you have to make. There is no single best Mt. Kilimanjaro climb route. Which route up Kilimanjaro is the best for you depends on several factors:

The time and money you have available, previous experience and fitness, the time of the year, personal preference…

Let’s look at the individual Kilimanjaro Routes and who they are suitable for:

  • Marangu Route: the only Kilimanjaro climb route that offers hut accommodation.
  • Machame Route: the most popular climbing route up Kilimanjaro.
  • Rongai Route: the easiest route on Kilimanjaro.
  • Shira Route: this one catapults you to some serious altitude on the first day.
  • Lemosho Route: hands down the most beautiful Kilimanjaro climb route
  • Umbwe Route: the most difficult and demanding route on Kilimanjaro, and the most spectacular.

The premium Kilimanjaro Climbing Packages that we provide surpass all the travel Kilimanjaro packages you will ever find on the web. Various Kilimanjaro Packages

Among the various Kilimanjaro Climbing Packages that we provide the 6 Days Kilimanjaro Climb is the most popular. However we world strongly recommend the 7 Days Kilimanjaro Climb as it gives an extra day to acclimatize and results in high summit success rate.

Comparison Between Kilimanjaro Climbing Packages

  • 6 Days Rongai Route

Rongai is the second best route after the Marangu route and it starts hiking from the East side of the Mountain. The Best Time to Climb Kilimanjaro on this route is surely during the warm dry season of June-October to view the Beautiful scenery and great view of Mawenzi Peak and Kibo peak.

  • 6 Days Umbwe Route

The Umbwe route is highly challenging and is only suggested for the experienced trekkers. However the lush forest, great view of the mountain is something that you cannot miss. With the help of our Kilimanjaro Guides even this challenging trek can be accomplished.

  • 6 Days Marangu Route

Although Marangu route is the oldest route and is well maintained with nicer trails it still has low Kilimanjaro Success Rate compared to other routes. This is contradictory to the number of visitors on this route due to the hut accommodation that the route provides with big Mattresses, big dining houses and great toilets.
