DAY 1

Arrival in Tanzania – Transfer to Moshi

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), our team will transfer you to your lodge in Moshi. Settle in, relax, and meet your mountain guide for a briefing before your Kilimanjaro trekking adventure begins.

DAY 2

Marangu Gate to Mandara Huts – Rainforest Trekking Begins

After breakfast, transfer to Marangu Gate (1,870 m) and register with park authorities. Begin your trek through the lush montane rainforest, where you may spot colobus monkeys and exotic birds. Stop for lunch along the way and reach Mandara Huts (2,700 m) in the afternoon. Optionally, take a short hike to Maundi Crater for panoramic views.

6 Days Marangu Route

DAY 3

Mandara Huts to Horombo Huts – Heathland and Moorland

Today’s trail passes through rainforest into the open heath and moorland zone. You’ll enjoy views of Mawenzi Peak and the open plains below. Stop for lunch en route and arrive at Horombo Huts (3,720 m) in the afternoon, with views of Kibo Peak ahead.

5 Days Marangu Route Kilimanjaro Climbing

DAY 4

Horombo Huts to Kibo Huts – Trek Across the Alpine Desert

Ascend steadily through moonscape terrain and the alpine desert as you cross the saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo. After lunch, continue toward Kibo Huts (4,703 m), your base for summit day. Rest and prepare your gear for the midnight climb.

6 Days Marangu Trek

DAY 5

Summit Uhuru Peak and Descend to Horombo Huts

Wake just after midnight and begin your summit attempt to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m)—the highest point in Africa. Pass Gilman’s Point at sunrise, then trek the crater rim to the summit. After celebrating, descend to Kibo for lunch, then continue down to Horombo Huts for rest.

DAY 6

Final Descent – Horombo to Marangu Gate, Return to Arusha

Complete your descent through moorland and rainforest to Marangu Gate (1,870 m). Sign out, receive your summit certificate, and tip your trekking crew. Then transfer to Arusha for an overnight stay at your lodge.

Mount Kilimanjaro National Park

DAY 7

Tarangire National Park Safari – Wildlife and Baobabs

Depart Arusha after breakfast and drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. Enjoy a full-day game drive, spotting lions, zebras, giraffes, and countless birds. In the evening, continue to Karatu overnight.

3 Days Manyara/Ngorongoro/Tarangire

DAY 8

Ngorongoro Crater Safari – Africa’s Wildlife Haven

Today, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and home to over 25,000 large animals, including endangered black rhinos, lions, elephants, and flamingos. After lunch at the hippo pool, return to Karatu.

DAY 9

Lake Manyara National Park – Scenic Safari & Return to Arusha
