This immersive 7-day Tanzania wildlife itinerary takes you deep into the heart of two of the country’s most remote and rewarding parks—Katavi National Park, known for its raw wilderness and big game, and Gombe Stream National Park, where you’ll follow in the footsteps of Dr. Jane Goodall to track chimpanzees in their natural habitat.
Flights to Mpanda run on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, making it easy to plan around lodge availability and safari timings.
The dry season (June to October) offers the best game viewing in Katavi and easier chimp tracking in Gombe due to reduced vegetation.
They are optional activities, bookable in advance or upon arrival at your lodge, and subject to availability and park regulations.
Moderate fitness is recommended. Hikes can involve steep and slippery forest trails, especially during or after the rainy season.
Yes! You can combine this safari with Mahale chimpanzee trekking or Zanzibar beach relaxation for a complete Tanzanian experience.
