DAY 1

Drive from Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve with Boat Safari on the Rufiji River

Depart early (07:30 AM) and enjoy a scenic drive (approx. 5–6 hours) to Selous Game Reserve—one of Africa’s last great wildernesses. Upon arrival, head straight to the Rufiji River for an afternoon boat safari, spotting hippos, crocodiles, and colorful riverine birds.


Overnight: Nyerere Tented Camp

DAY 2

Full-Day Game Drive in Selous Game Reserve – Tanzania's Largest Protected Area

Spend the full day exploring Selous Game Reserve, home to vast elephant herds, buffalo, lions, leopards, and rare African wild dogs. With over 350 bird species and diverse ecosystems, it’s one of the richest wildlife habitats in East Africa.
You’ll enjoy a mix of private guided game drives and optional boat safaris, offering close encounters with wildlife in their natural setting.

DAY 3

Transfer to Udzungwa Mountains National Park with Game Viewing En Route

After breakfast and a final morning game drive through Selous, begin your journey toward Udzungwa Mountains National Park. The scenic drive takes you through rural villages and tropical landscapes, arriving by late evening.

DAY 4

Hike to Sanje Waterfalls – Primate Spotting and Rainforest Adventure

Embark on a guided hike through the lush Udzungwa rainforest to the spectacular Sanje Waterfalls, which cascade over 180 meters. Spot unique primates like the Iringa red colobus monkey and Sanje mangabey, and cool off in crystal-clear plunge pools.
Picnic lunch at the top of the falls with panoramic views of the Kilombero Valley. Return to camp in the afternoon.

7 Days Selous Udzungwa Ruaha

DAY 5

Drive to Ruaha National Park – Begin Wildlife Safari in Tanzania’s Heartland

After breakfast, depart for Ruaha National Park, the largest park in southern Tanzania (5–6 hours’ drive). Break for lunch on the way, then check in to your lodge and set off on your first afternoon game drive.
Ruaha is known for its massive elephant populations, dramatic baobab landscapes, and rare antelope species.

19 Days Northern & Southern Tanzania

DAY 6

Full-Day Safari in Ruaha National Park – Remote Wildlife Encounters

Explore Ruaha National Park on a full-day safari with picnic lunch. Drive through open plains, riverine forests, and rocky hills in search of Greater and Lesser Kudu, roan antelope, sable antelope, and prides of lions.
The Ruaha River, flowing along the park’s edge, provides year-round water for large wildlife and over 370 bird species.

Ruaha National Park

DAY 7

Transfer to Iringa Airport – Flight to Dar es Salaam

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Iringa Airport for your Air Tanzania flight back to Dar es Salaam. Arrive early afternoon and continue your onward travel or beach extension.
