DAY 1
Dar es Salaam to Mikumi – Scenic Drive & Afternoon Game Drive
Start your southern Tanzania safari early in the morning with a scenic drive from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park. Upon arrival around lunchtime, you’ll settle in and head out for your first game drive in the park.
Overnight: Mikumi public campsite

DAY 2
Full-Day Wildlife Safari in Mikumi National Park
Spend the entire day exploring Mikumi’s vast savannah landscapes, which resemble the Serengeti in miniature. Choose between a full-day drive or two half-day game drives to make the most of early morning and late afternoon animal activity.
Don’t miss the elevated observation towers for panoramic views of the park’s wildlife-rich ecosystem.

DAY 3
Mikumi to Iringa – Cultural Drive Through Southern Highlands
After breakfast, depart Mikumi and begin your journey to Iringa, a charming town nestled in the Southern Highlands. The drive offers breathtaking views of rural Tanzania, passing farmlands, mountains, and traditional villages.
In the evening, visit the Isimila Stone Age Site, one of Tanzania’s most significant prehistoric archaeological locations.

DAY 4
Iringa to Ruaha National Park – Enter the Wild Heart of Tanzania
After breakfast, continue toward Ruaha National Park, Tanzania’s largest national park and home to the country’s largest elephant population. Upon arrival, enjoy an afternoon game drive in Ruaha’s rugged and remote landscapes.

DAY 5-6
Full Safari Days in Ruaha National Park – Big Game, Solitude & Scenery
Spend two full days exploring the diverse ecosystems of Ruaha, known for its low tourist traffic and authentic African safari experience. Game drives will take place early in the morning and late afternoon, when wildlife is most active.

DAY 7
Morning Game Drive & Flight from Ruaha to Dar, Mafia or Zanzibar
On your final day, enjoy a short morning game drive in Ruaha National Park before breakfast. You’ll then be transferred to the nearby airstrip for your flight to Dar es Salaam, Mafia Island, or Zanzibar, depending on your onward plans.
