The dry season (June to October) is ideal for game drives in Katavi and offers easier chimp tracking in Mahale and Gombe due to clearer forest paths.
Moderate fitness is required. Trails can be steep, humid, and slippery—especially after rainfall—but treks are paced to suit visitors.
